Adding capacitive touch sensors

I'm interested in adding capacitive touch sensors[1] to the wtpa2 and I'm just wondering of any considerations before I end up with something as cool as this video example[2].  I realize I can use Midi, but I'd rather figure this out.

  • Sounds cool.  I say go for it.

I've been designing cap sensors for most of my career and they can be very difficult or very simple depending on what you are going for.
Get your adafruit board up and detecting touches, then get it to light 8 leds correstponding to correct touches.

Once your LEDs are lighting up, use an open drain transistor to "pull down" the buttons on WTPA2.

You could also use some pins on WTPA2 to have it talk I2C to your touchsensor breakout if you wanted to get slick, but there's more room for messing something up that way.

Let me know how it goes!
